The Lost Files- Ornitholestes by HodariNundu The Lost Files- Ornitholestes by HodariNundu
JURASSIC PARK Los Archivos Perdidos
Ornitholestes
Epoca: Jurasico tardio, hace 150 millones de años
Distribucion: Norteamerica
Longitud: 2 metros
Peso: Hasta 50 kilos
Dieta: Carnivoro
VERY DANGEROUS!

JURASSIC PARK The Lost Files
Ornitholestes
Age: Late Jurassic, 150 mya
Distribucion: North America
Length: 2 metros
Weight:Up to 50 kgs
Diet: Carnivore
Ornitholestes is a small predator, somewhat resembling a raptor. In fact, sightings of this animal in site B made some people believe that InGen had cloned three species of Velociraptor, instead of two.
Ornitholestes is a lone animal, of nocturnal and crepuscular habits, although sometimes seen active during day. It feeds on smaller animals, like lizards, mammals and other dinosaurs' young. (Actually, Ornitholestes is one of the species that control the population levels of larger dinosaurs by eating their young and raiding their nests).
Usually, Ornitholestes males are somewhat larger and have a more square shaped snout than females. These dinosaurs live in areas with moderately dense vegetation; it has been reported that they can climb trees, and as all dinosaurs, they can swim if necessary.
Ornitholestes is quite aggressive and territorial; females raise the young alone and won´t allow any male to get close to her territory if her young are around. This animal's call is a rough growl, but also strange calls like those of a big bird have been recorded.
Several very distinctive color morphs have been reported for this animal.
TRIVIA: Ornitholestes caused three human deaths in Jurassic Park; in all three cases, it ambushed its victim by leaping on it from a tree or out of dense vegetation, and biting its throat several times. Because of its dangerousness, Management had it removed from the tour.
Ironically, soon after it was replaced with Velociraptor, an animal that caused many more deaths and was besides much more expensive to keep.
For some reason, no attacks of wild Ornitholestes have been reported to date.
VERY DANGEROUS!

I think of the Ornitholestes as the leopard of the dinosaur world or jurassic park.

Well, I spend alot of time studying, theorzing, supecting, comparing one species to another, and learning about all animals (especially dinosaurs) since I was 10 years old, when I truly understand science and all.
