JURASSIC PARK Los Archivos Perdidos
Morsodocus
Epoca: Cretaceo medio, hace 110 millones de años
Distribucion: Africa
Longitud: Hasta 10 metros
Peso: 5-6 toneladas
Dieta: Herbivoro

JURASSIC PARK The Lost Files
Morsodocus
Age: Middle Cretaceous, 110 mya
Range: Africa
Length: Up to 10 meters
Weight: 5-6 tons
Diet: Herbivore
Morsodocus is one of the dinosaurs discovered by the Jurassic Park scientists themselves. It is a rather smallish sauropod with a row of iguana-like spikes running down its back (although Morsodocus' spikes are stiffer and sharper), and a weird, square snout with prortruding teeth to cut the plants that are its food.
Due to its strange looks and voracious apetite, the Park keepers would simply call it "La Aspiradora", the vacuum cleaner.
Morsodocus are peaceful animals that live in small groups, although they often feed alone, following the course of rivers. One single Morsodocus can eat up to 280 kgs of vegetation each day. Its countless teeth can be replaced once and again and again, and are pretty sharp. Males and females look alike, although males are usually bigger and have brighter colors around the nostrils.
The males have been seen fighting over dominance of the herd, or the right to mate, but fights among females have never been reported.
Like many other dinosaurs, Morsodocus communicate using infrasounds, which humans can´t hear but can feel in the form of vibrations. Morsodocus can communicate even if they are separated by kilometers of dense jungle.
TRIVIA: The Jurassic Park scientists considered several possible names for this strange dinosaur, among them was Quadratosaurus africanus. Eventually they decided to name it Morsodocus because, according to the animal keepers, although it was normally peaceful it was also somewhat of a biter. In 1999, the discovery of a fossil Morsodocus in Niger, Africa, was announced. It was named Nigersaurus, but at the time, Jurassic Park was no more, so all the Park's archives refer to the animal as Morsodocus.
POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS, KEEP YOUR DISTANCE
