JURASSIC PARK Los Archivos Perdidos
Deinocheirus
Epoca: Cretaceo tardio, hace 70 millones de años
Distribucion: Asia
Longitud: Hasta 15 metros
Peso: Hasta 4.5 toneladas
Dieta: Omnivoro
POTENCIALMENTE PELIGROSO

JURASSIC PARK The Lost Files
Age: Late Cretaceous, 70 million years ago
Range: Asia
Length: Up to 15 meters
Weight: Up to 4.5 tons
Dieta: Omnivoro
Deinocheirus would be easily confused with Therizinosaurus if it wasn´t for its spectacular coloration; blue in the front and red in the hind quarters. This huge animal is related to Gallimimus but is over ten times bigger.
It is recognized by its long arms with curved claws, effective defensive weapons and very useful to destroy dead tree trunks, termite mounds, etc. It feeds on almost anything, including carrion, but rarely attacks live animals. It is one of the fastest giant dinosaurs; has been clocked at 75 kms p/h even in the jungle (when attacked, it runs straight to the dense vegetation, knocking trees down and trampling vegetation, hoping its enemy will prove unable to keep up). Its courtship is rather extravagant, with some kind of ritual dance, exagerate postures of arms and neck, and exhibition of the long, conspicuous tongue.
TRIVIA: Deinocheirus has a rather peculiar call, as if it came from several places at the time. This "ventriloquist" act helps it disorient its enemies, even the ferocious raptors, when fleeing across the jungle. Because of that, it is hard to find or follow this dinosaur, except when it comes out to forest clearances to drink or start a courtship ritual.
POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS
