Un tigre dientes de sable (Smilodon fatalis) advierte a sus rivales que se mantengan alejados.
El tigre dientes de sable fue uno de los ultimos y mas grandes felinos dientes de sable; algunos fosiles sugieren que se extinguio hace unos 9.500 años.

A sabertooth tiger (Smilodon fatalis) warns its rivals to stay away from its territory.
The sabertooth tiger was one of the largest and last sabertoothed cats; some fossils suggest it became extinct about 9,500 years.

Hold up. I thought there's no such thing as a sabertooth 'tiger'. 'Sides, last time I checked, Smilodon's distantly related to tigers.

The Smilodon's common name is sabertoothed tiger.
(The whole machairodontinae group is known as "sabertoothed cats"). Yes, they weren´t that closely related to tigers, but it receives that name anyways due to its being among the largest, fiercest of its kind.

Hmm, good point. Still, from what I once heard, it's more likely that Smilodon had spots, like a leopard or jaguar, what with havin' lived in a grassland biome and all.

I guess it is more likely, but then again, lions live in grasslands and they don´t have spots in adult life.
