Un Deinocheirus espera, con los larguisimos brazos raptoriales retraídos, a que alguna presa desprevenida se le ponga a tiro. No muy lejos de ahí, su compañero ya ha capturado a un pequeño protoceratópsido con un rapidísimo movimiento de sus garras, y comienza a tragárselo entero.
Ésta es una versión completamente libre del misterioso Deinocheirus del cual solo se conocen los brazos y otros fragmentos; al parecer un Tarbosaurus (como el que espera camuflado en el fondo) se comió el resto del único esqueleto conocido.
Mi inspiración para el Deinocheirus arborícola fueron el orangután, el perezoso, la mantis religiosa, la araña cara de ogro, la serpiente y el binturong.
Quería ponerle a los Deinocheirus plumaje más largo y desaliñado que pareciera vegetación para llevar su camuflaje al extremo (como el pelaje de un perezoso) pero decidí dejarselo más corto para que se aprecie la forma- quizá haga la otra versión en el futuro. :>

A Deinocheirus awaits, with its very long raptorial arms retracted, for some potential victim to walk into its reach below. Not far from there, its mate has already caught a protoceratopsid with a lightning-fast motion of its arms and now swallows it whole.
This is a completely fanciful version of this mysterious dinosaur of which only the arms and a few other fragments are known (apparently, a Tarbosaurus like the one in the background, camouflaged potoo-style) ate the rest of the only known skeleton.
My inspiration for these tree-dwelling Deinocheirus were the orangutan, the sloth, the praying mantis, the ogre-faced spider, the snake and the binturong.
I wanted to give them longer, shaggier proto-feathers to make them look better camouflaged- like a sloth's fur- but at the end I gave them shorter fuzz so their shape is better appreciated. I may draw the other version in the future :>
