King Kong vs Megalonyx by HodariNundu King Kong vs Megalonyx by HodariNundu

When the remains of Megalonyx were first found, including a claw, it was named and imagined by Thomas Jefferson (who was yet to become president of the US) as a gigantic lion, the carnivoran to end all carnivorans. Jefferson believed that such beasts as the mastodon and the Megalonyx could still exist in the most remote parts of North America. Although the colossal lion idea didn´t last long and it was soon found to be a vegetarian ground sloth, it was too cool not to inspire this  :B
(This is actually my second attempt, I've been wanting to draw the "original" Megalonyx for a long time). Here it is seen fighting Kong himself over supremacy amongst the island's mammalian monsters. Cuz if the son of Kong can fight cave bears and Indarctos can time-travel and kick allosaur butt ( hodarinundu.deviantart.com/art… ) then there's no reason why Kong shouldn´t fight a multi-ton lion :B

This is really good. I love this piece. Have you ever thought of having King Kong fight a mammoth?

I think, that at this stage the lion is doomed no metter how agile and strong he is, Kong has already grabed him by the troath and seconds later he will pounch his head hard, and when the push him down, he wil probably crush lions jaws with his hands, lions only chance now are his claws.
