Digging Raptor At Long Last! by HodariNundu Digging Raptor At Long Last! by HodariNundu

At last, the mysterious "digging raptor" Sereno called the strangest dino he's ever found.
I don´t know its name yet but apparently, despite its nickname, it was actually a noasaurid, the most complete found thus far, and its most curious trait is the very reduced arms (I think I made them a bit too large here :B) with flat, strong claws, supossedly designed to dig and widen burrows so it could "dive" after underground prey and capture it with its long neck and protruding front teeth.
It was about 1.80 meters long and cioexisted with Suchomimus in what would one day become the Sahara, 110 million years ago. Keep your eyes open, it should be announced oficially soon.

Thanks to :iconkrajax: for the update.

I hadn't heard of this, very cool!  The short arms remind me of Limusaurus, is it possible that it's a type of elaphrosaur?  Maybe elaphrosaurs are just noasaurs in disguise!

Seems like an alvarezsaur/snake hybrid niche-wise.

Wouldn't tiny arms be counteractive towards digging after prey?

A really awesome discovery. A sandfish Skink-like Noasaurid?
I really wonder what will be the next discovery in this family... A quadrupedal long-necked Abelisaurid ? XD

Me gusta!
