Armadillosuchus es un nuevo descubrimiento; basicamente, un cocodriliforme con caparazón al estilo de los armadillos.
Vivio hace 90 millones de años, en el Cretaceo, y era omnivoro y de habitos terrestres.

Dibujo hecho originalmente para un periódico local.

Armadillosuchus is a new discovery; basically, a crocodyliphorm with an armadillo-like caparace.
It lived 90 million years ago in the Cretaceous and it was omnivorous and land dwelling.

Thats nothing; Simosuchus was an herbivore, and modern alligators do occasionally feed on fruit

Given that most scientists agree nowdays that crocodilians, and not dinosaurs, were the main competitors of mammals back then, its perhaps not unsurprising that crocodilians developed an armadillo like form.

But then again, its still an impressive animal

I's heard of Simosuchus, even seen pictures of it.

When I the gators actually eatin' watermelon, I thought "no way."
